January 26th Level 4 WinterFest

Huh, that did not work they way I wanted it to. I am very new at his sort of technology, silly I know. I will figure out a better way to do this next time!

Congrats to all our level 4 athletes! You showed that you have some great stuff!! The first meet is always a little rough becuase it is such a new experience for our new level 4 gymnasts. This meet was especially different because we were all in one group when typically we would be split into two groups. We also had a coach who was sick and one who could not attend becuase she was not allowed to leave on a Friday during her student teaching!

So in spite of all these obstacles, the girls looked great. We have a lot of very young level 4's this year and they showed they could cut it and hang with the big girls. We received compliments from judges and coaches from other gyms also. Everyone is always impressed with how awesome the uniforms are, how professional our program is run and how well poised, polished and perfected our gymnasts are for this level!

The second year level 4's were loaded with beautiful routines and helped to set a great example for the new girls. Several new level 4 girls made some history by achieving a Blue ribbon at thier very first meet. This is not typical, especially with real judges! Congrats to Jordan Stellini for achieving Blue ribbons on all four events. Also, congrats to Lydia Martin who nailed her first ever level 5 beam routine, great cartwheel! We also won the handstand contest in almost every age group we represented! Way to go girls! I could not be more proud of your hard work and accomplishments! Keep it up!

The level five team had their first competiton of the season Dec. 9 in Detroit. This years team has a little bit of everything. The secod year level five girls consisting of Taylor Jangda, Annie Hill, Mackenzie Maas, Bri Stechebar and Krista Walberer are bringing last years experience, talent and successes to the table to lead this years team to victory. The new level five girls come with excitemnet, nervousness, determination and goals to add a state championship title to their list of accomplishments. The new level five girls consist of Rachel McNeil, Melissa McWatters, Sophie Jaffas and Phelicia Costie. As a coach, I could ot have asked for a better start to this teams season! We dominated the competiton in all age groups and took home 1st place in the team competiton. This happens to be a monumental occasion for Alpine Gymnastics. This is the first 1st place finish for any level team in approximately 10 years! Watch out Michigan, there are few tigers on the loose and they are making a name for themselves and Alpine. Well, here it is at last! A place to view our teams accomplishments, and for you as a parent to share a little of what your "gym life" is like with your family and friends. Enjoy!

Alpine and North Star Gymnastics Team is on the move! We are now officially the best level five team in Grand Rapids!!! This is based on team placements. Wow! I have worked very hard to provide this opportunitiy for the hard working gymnasts of Alpine Gymnastics and it has only taken 2 full seasons for this talented group pf girls to achieve this goal of theirs. Their first goal was to earn that local title, their next goal to take the state title! If anyone can do it, this group of determined level 5 athletes who are training for level 7 can do it. We are currently ranked in the top 10 in MI. Our developmental team level 4 and below are also recognized everywhere they travel. They are noticed for their poise, presentation, form and talent. Look forward to great things this season and in the near future!
